Roman & Lexi
What a wonderful story! During this series, I’ve been invested with the players, I loved Roman from Aurora and Flip’s story, If You Want Me, and so I was looking forward to his story. And I’m glad to say it didn’t disappoint! He’s the same caring person we saw in Aurora’s book.
Alexandria Forrester, aka Lexi, had a sizzling hot one night stand with Roman Hammerstein three years ago, when she visited her father in NYC. Now, three years later, she appears in the Toronto Terrors, where Roman is the goalie, as the new Assistant Coach. Cue awkwardness!
She never forgot their night together, but hoped he had forgotten her, and no dice! He frequently jerks off to the memories of that hot night. So he’s angry that she didn’t leave a note when she left him at the hotel, and didn’t like that she knew who he was and didn’t warn him about her job.
Roman is adapting to his daughter’s living with Hollis and not having someone to care for. Lexi came to Toronto with her two younger half-sisters, who lost their parents in a boating accident. Lexi is their guardian, she’s doing the best she can to take care of her mourning little sisters, but most of the time she feels lost and overwhelmed. Enter Roman, who gives great hugs and the best advice, he fills a hole in all their lives, plus he gets the opportunity to parent again.
To witness this family evolve through their issues and get Roman and Lexi to connect again makes this a truly wonderful story. Again, we have a forbidden relation because Lexi is nominally Roman’s boss, so again, we have a secret relationship. But this time, I was all for it! I loved Lexi and Roman and loved all that they gained and how each other fill a void in their lives. And once again, the whole Terror family joins in, with their friendship and support, this time some babysitting too, and makes this a heartwarming and fantastic love story. I was in heaven as I read this lovely story!
