THESE TWO WRONGS, by Julia Wolf

Savage Academy #2

Rhys & Delilah

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When I saw the title of this book, I thought it referred to two wrong actions taken against someone.  Then, as I read about Delilah and her twin Evelyn and the neglect they get from their parents, who see their daughters as two mistakes, I thought, these are the two wrongs.  But then you continue to read about Delilah and Rhys Astor, and I understood!

Rhys, Delilah, and Evelyn assist, with their friends, to Savage Academy.  What distinguishes all these students is that they come from wealthy parents.  Both Rhys and Delilah have formed their own clique of friends, apart from the entitled, bullies, divas, bitches, etc.  They are connected because Rhys’ best friend is dating Delilah’s best friend.  And yet, they haven’t spent any time together and there is no interest.  Until Rhys receives a request from a roommate, to intercept Delilah so he can pursue her twin.  Rhys accepts the assignment because he needs a cash source of income, and in doing so, discovers a unique girl, intriguing and so different from the usual type of girl he usually dates.  Delilah is not impressed, so Rhys has to work hard and fast.

These two young adults have not led easy lives, in spite of their wealth.  Delilah’s parents see her and her twin as defective; Rhys’ father died when he was a child, and his mother, who needs a man to take care of her, married another man six months later and the new stepfather turned out to be abusive.  So these are the two wrongs, done to two exceptional young adults.

I loved how Delilah forced Rhys to grow and how he made her feel desirable.  They grew together and shored each other up.  And he was always kind to Evelyn, who is autistic and sometimes felt overwhelmed.  Underneath that cocky guy was a young man with a kind heart, Delilah just had to dig deep to find him.  Once found, he was delightful.  Delilah had image issues, enforced by her mother’s scorn, and Rhys helped her accept herself.  I loved how he called her by all kinds of names starting with a D, which made Delilah scoff but inside charmed her.  They had great conversations and banter.

There were many things that made this book enchanting, the interpersonal relations, the support from friends, the growth and love between the characters.  There was a lot of pain coming form outside, but in the end, they find that family is not what comes from blood but from the heart and the end was everything that I needed and desired.

Book review: KARMA’S KISS, by R.S. Grey

The best part about this book is that it’s a small town romance, and I love this trope.  Everyone knows everyone else’s business, gossip tra...
