My favorite character in this book is Beck, he’s everything that a boyfriend should be. Actually, he’s too good to be true! All the characters in this book are memorable, so very well fleshed out that I felt I knew them, even the horrible wicked witch Ivy. This is another emotional story from Siobhan Davis, full of the angst and emotional turmoil we’re accustomed to (and dare I say, spoiled for) by this author.
The first 30% of the story was a very slow burn, something I’m not accustomed from this author, and it felt like the first mountain in a rollercoaster, where you’re itching and fearing what’s coming when you crest the mountain. I have to say I was very impatient for this first part to be done. I like Siobhan’s books when they start out fast and emotional and twisty from the get go.
Once the action and the feels and the heartbreak start happening, I was in angsty heaven and loving this book! I felt for Stevie and all her turmoils, didn’t love Garrick because I found him too clingy, felt for Beck and his infinite patience, loved Hadley and Hudson for being such perfect best friends. I missed the plot twists where the author gives me whiplash from the change in direction but I loved the strong emotional tugs at my heart.
Once I finished the book and all the epilogues and bonus scene, I felt very sentimental, so very touched by all the emotions of the story. As always, Siobhan Davis made me feel very hard, so thank you for this!
