Book review: FIREBALL, by Abbi Glines

Smoke #2

Blaise & Maddy

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If Smokeshow was hot, this one was sizzling!  Blaise is now not just a man in love, he’s a man obsessed with his woman and he can’t let her out of his sight.  He gets grumpy and unreasonable when he’s deprived of her presence.  However, Madeline wants as normal life as possible and he can’t say no.  There are many negotiations between this pair in their relation, and most have to do with calibrating Blaise to behave like a normal dude, not an obsessed cowboy.

Madeline was furious with Blaise and his cronies for what she understood was the murder of her father and brother.  After a couple weeks away, Blaise couldn’t stay away, not when he was told she wasn’t doing well.  So he explains all, and life as Madeline knew it disappears and a new reality comes in.  She’s broken but she deals because that’s the kind of person she is, a survivor with a spine of steel.  She’s kind, she’s naive, thinks the best of everyone until proven otherwise.  And in spite of betrayals, still gives people a chance.  She’s outstanding that way, so no wonder people are absorbed into her sphere and want to be friends or something more.

Madeline and Blaise as a couple are fire, and once Madeline comes into her own, she’s a fireball, managing her man with ease.  I loved seeing Blaise when he gets jealous; the difference between Blaise thundering about his woman, his possession, is very similar to a toddler having a tantrum about a toy, LOL.  I also loved seeing Madeline flourish from the broken woman she’s in the beginning, to the insecure one wondering about her future, to the fireball that kept Blaise in his place with love and passion.  Great storytelling from this author, she went darker than her previous books but way to make them addictive and riveting!

Book review: KARMA’S KISS, by R.S. Grey

The best part about this book is that it’s a small town romance, and I love this trope.  Everyone knows everyone else’s business, gossip tra...
