It happens after The Varsity Dad Dilemma, and now we’re reading Ben Rodriguez’s story, Gabby’s brother. They were estranged in the previous book but are now working on their relation. Gabby and Rider are living in Dallas, where Rider was drafted to.
Sienna, who used to be Gabby’s roommate, was leaving to spend 4 days with her family in California and her boyfriend Cal Winston was supposed to take her to the airport. But at the last minute, he reneged and sent Ben instead. Sienna’s flight was cancelled due to bad weather so she returned to Cal’s house and found Cal having an orgy with three women. She threw all his electronics and text books over the window to the yard outside, then went home.
Ben had a call from his ex-girlfriend, turned out they have a 2 year old daughter she had neglected to inform him about. She tried to pass her off as her boyfriend’s, but he found out and got violent. Now she wants to move in with him. So what does he do? Ask Sienna to be his fake girlfriend to protect him from the piranha, enable him to spend time with his daughter and show Cal that she moved on from his worthless behind.
Easy peasy but they had tons of problems coming from all directions. Sienna is a sunny girl, sees everything in a positive light. Ben is broody and has panic attack issues. Together they made a wonderful fake couple. And the shots kept on coming from all over the place and these two rolled with the punches until they couldn’t anymore.
Lovely story, great characters, utterly entertaining antics of young adults on the brink of starting their adult life.
